3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, has advanced from spewing toner on a white sheet of paper to building layers of plastic until an object is formed; to now using specialized printers to print a body part, airplane engine parts, or a 500-square-foot barracks room for soldiers, all in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
