Hybrid-additive manufacturing at Fraunhofer ILT application suspension component

By using hybrid-additive manufacturing with Laser Metal Deposition (LMD), the advantages of conventional process chains and additive manufacturing can be combined. In this application, hybrid-additive manufacturing refers to the additive build-up of local features on conventionally manufactured components. This permits an efficient and demand-driven individualization at comparatively low cost. The video shows such a local reinforcement by LMD on an automotive suspension component.
