Robotic machining technology in aerospace manufacturing

In Aerospace industry machining of major components such as wings, fuselage shells or tailplanes is a real challenge. The  Fraunhofer IFAM is working at the CFK NORD research centre in Stade on the realization of new and versatile plant designs. With robotic based machining and mobile robotic systems, there are promising opportunities for the manufacturing of the future regarding higher productivity, reduction of lead time and rare of investment costs.
