Nano Dimension Receives a New Patent for Its Cloud Manufacturing Platform

On February 8, 2023, Nano Dimension, a leading supplier of metal and ceramic Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D printers, Additive Manufactured Electronics (AME) and multi-dimensional polymer, announced that it has been granted a patent in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), and more specifically pertaining to the neural network that supports its cloud-based manufacturing platform.

The patent issued is for a "Cluster-Connected Neural Network." It comprises a long list of claims regarding neural network training and deployment. This patent and the technology surrounding it enable DeepCube AI solutions to function more efficiently on a distributed network of 3D printers deployed globally. This production model is becoming increasingly crucial as Nano Dimension-enabled manufacturing becomes more decentralized; hence, the technology must successfully operate wherever it may be.

This patent adds to DeepCube's existing collection, which now comprises 20 granted and 25 pending patents. Nano Dimension has approximately 81 granted patents and 194 pending patents.

DeepCube develops the AI/Deep Learning engine for Nano Dimension's metal, ceramic, and electronics additive manufacturing printers. DeepCube's ground-breaking software inference accelerator significantly boosts performance on additive manufacturing hardware.

DeepCube leverages the same neutral network training that has enabled advances in photo and speech recognition to parts manufacturing. Multiple sensors can detect faults that are too tiny for the human eye and enhance part quality. Furthermore, AI-driven decision-making eliminates printing mistakes in real time while increasing manufacturing yield and throughput.

DeepCube's proprietary algorithms boost data analysis rates tenfold, making it the only hardware performance accelerator of its kind. In addition, memory utilization is reduced by overcoming previous AI models' infrastructure, energy, and memory limits for low-cost implementation.

DeepCube converts 3D printers into a viable global solution for Industry 4.0 demands. As seen by the acquisition of DeepCube in April 2021, this is a crucial element of the company's strategy. These patents are a prime example of how deep learning-based AI is laying the groundwork for the company's development of cutting-edge additive manufacturing solutions.
