Manufacturing Tech Firm, Robotics Company Announce Autonomous Factory Partnership

Michigan manufacturing technology provider Applied Manufacturing Technologies recently announced a strategic partnership with autonomous industrial robotics manufacturer OTTO Motors. OTTO, a subsidiary of Canadian robotics firm Clearpath Robotics, develops autonomous systems for material handling in factories and warehouses. The company counts Toyota and GE among its customers. AMT officials said the agreement would help meet the challenge of moving heavy payloads. The company specializes in robot automation engineering, manufacturing systems integration, and turnkey industrial controls; its material handling capabilities include conveyor systems, robotic palletizing, and smart systems utilizing GPS and LIDAR.
