BigRep introduces four materials for large-format 3D printing systems

BigRep has introduced four new certified materials for its large-format extrusion 3D printing systems at FABTECH in Chicago. The company has added PLX, PET-CF, PA6/66 and BVOH support material to its portfolio as it strives to facilitate more advanced applications of its Pro, Edge and Studio G2 systems. Derived from organic compounds, PLX is being pitched as a reliable material able to print up to 80% faster than standard PLA at a strength surpassing ABS-printed parts without modification to the printer. PET-CF is a carbon fibre-reinforced filament designed for the Studio G2 which offers ‘exceptional’ dimensional stability and low moisture absorption. It can produce strong and stiff parts with a heat resistance of up to 100°C. The PA6/66 material is a highly durable, lightweight thermoplastic material boasting high rigidity and heat and chemical resistance.
