Audi Announces Expansion of Polymer 3D printing in Production

Luxury automaker Audi announced that it is expanding the use of 3D printers in Production.  As a part of the expansion, the company will set up a separate department that will be responsible for implementation at the company’s Neckarsulm site in Germany in the future.
Speaking about how the new specialist department will benefit the company, Helmut Stettner, Plant Manager at Neckarsulm said, By establishing a separate specialist department for 3D printing, we are professionalizing this already successful project. Even more, employees will be able to benefit from the experienced expert team and the custom auxiliary tools in the future.
The decision to establish the new department supports the creation of a cross-site network. Ultimately the entire Volkswagen Group will benefit from the expertise in Neckarsulm, added Stettner.
