Artec3D announces Studio 14 software with several feature updates

Artec 3D has announced the availability of its Artec Studio 14 software, with a number of new features and integration with the recently-launched Artec Micro system. Updated features include great CAD/CAM functionality, target-free registration for the Artec Ray long-range scanner, and the ability to now export unlimited numbers of open or closed contours in polyline format to other CAD/CAM programmes enabling quick reverse engineering. Users also have access to improved 3D modelling functions, like Glare Removal which produces uniform colour surfaces with physically based rendering algorithms, and can organically mend and repair holes and gaps in scans using existing scan geometry through a feature called Bridges. Artec has made the software compatible with its entire portfolio of 3D scanning equipment and believes the improved features can be harnessed in a variety of industries.
