Artec 3D launches mobile app for Artec Ray long-range 3D scanning device

Artec 3D has launched a mobile app for its Artec Ray long-range 3D scanning device which will allow users to operate without being connected by wire to a laptop. The app can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices and has been developed to give users more freedom when capturing data for large objects. Artec Ray is able to gather data with sub-millimetre accuracy and from a distance of up to 110 metres away, and by controlling this process from a mobile device via Wi-Fi connection, users are now able to do so at greater ease and a quicker pace. The app allows scan resolutions to be specified in the Simple Settings Mode pictured on the right, while sensitivity, horizontal and vertical resolution, scanning sounds, and scan texture can all be adjusted in the Advanced Settings Mode.
