Arkema and 3DXTech add FluroX 3D printing material to Ultimaker marketplace

Specialty chemicals and materials company, Arkema, has announced the addition of a new high-performance polymer to Ultimaker’s Material Alliance Program. In collaboration with filament manufacturer 3DXTech, FluorX is based on Arkema’s Kynar PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) which provides high thermal and chemical resistance for industrial-grade printing. Parts produced with the material show strong flammability performance and abrasion resistance, making it ideal for applications such as jigs and fixtures or low-volume components in the automotive, industrial and aerospace markets. Using Ultimaker’s Cura print preparation software, desktop 3D printing users will now be able to select FluroX’s print profile to ensure optimum print results.
