Plex Systems Announced Modularization Approach for Its Smart Manufacturing Platform

Plex | June 10, 2022

Plex Systems, a Rockwell Automation business, and a leader in cloud-delivered smart manufacturing solutions, revealed today a new modularization approach for its Smart Manufacturing Platform to provide accessibility and scalability for manufacturing's digital transition. Plex's revolutionary cloud-native platform enables this approach, which better aligns with clients' goals as they develop their smart manufacturing technology strategy, including an emphasis on flexibility, quick implementation, and ease of entry with a road to growth. Manufacturers can begin their digital transition in a variety of ways with Plex. They can, for example, start with quality management (QMS) or manufacturing execution (MES) systems, which are standard entry points for most manufacturers, and then add capabilities like production monitoring, asset performance management, or supply chain planning later. Companies can choose the beginning point that best matches their needs using this method, and then scale into other linked solutions over time. Plex is the only system that allows new capabilities to be "activated" rather than "installed," allowing data and governance rules to flow fluidly throughout the system. The following are three instances of novel modular solutions: New Product Introduction and Management: Reduce time to market and development expenses to boost profitability and competitive position. Companies can successfully track new and existing products, including upgrades, retirement, and obsolescence, and manage the product and program lifecycle - from concept to completion. Labor and Workforce Management: Using effective labor management, clear skills-to-required production capabilities, reduced onboarding time, and employee health and safety programs, you can optimize labor schedules and costs while maintaining delivery schedules. Advanced Quality: Use integrated continuous improvement toolsets to manage supplier quality and compliance and extend quality processes throughout the whole supply chain to establish a holistic quality culture both inside and outside the four walls of the firm. Plex was built from the ground up for manufacturers with flexibility and scalability in mind, as evidenced by our cloud-first multi-tenant architecture. Modularization takes this a step further with numerous starting points for companies at any stage to begin or expand their digital transformation journey.” Nathan Pieri, chief product officer and vice president, applications, Rockwell Automation.
