Leading thin-film processing systems supplier, Intevac, Inc., recently announced that it has entered into a long-term joint development agreement with a major supplier of glass and glass ceramic materials.
The partnership’s specific terms are to remain confidential. The agreement requires Intevac to maintain five years of exclusivity for the client who has agreed to deploy the TRIO platform for consumer electronics applications. One clause stipulates a minimum of $100 million in system sales to Intevac over a period of five years to maintain TRIO platform exclusivity in the market. Intevac will continue to build customer relationships for TRIO in other glass coating applications, such as automotive and point-of-sale displays.
