Acquisition: Sybridge Technologies Finishes Action Tooling LLC and Lakeshore Fixture & Gauge Ltd.

Sybridge Technologies | January 05, 2022

Acquisition: Sybridge Technologies
On January 4, SyBridge Technologies, a global industrial technology company, said it had bought Action Tooling LLC and Lakeshore Fixture & Gauge Ltd. Both agreements strengthen SyBridge's Technology & Services business area and position the company to provide end-to-end solutions. SyBridge's fifth and sixth purchases in 2021 are Action and Lakeshore.

Crestview Partners, a New York-based private equity company, founded SyBridge Technologies in 2019 with a $200 million equity commitment to build a market-leading provider of value-added manufacturing solutions across end industries, regions, and sophisticated technological capabilities.

SyBridge can now better service its consumers in the Midwest region due to the purchase of Action. With the establishment of this service center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, SyBridge's customer support network now totals five dedicated service locations strategically located throughout North America.

As a result of its acquisition of Lakeshore, SyBridge will now have in-house capabilities for designing, manufacturing, certifying, and servicing fixtures, gauges, and end-of-arm tooling. This is a big step forward for SyBridge in its mission to provide a comprehensive portfolio of industrial technology solutions to customers in mobility, medical sciences, consumer products, and other industries.

Andy Aiton, President of SyBridge Tech & Services Business Unit, shared, Action has been a service-oriented company throughout its 25 year history with an exceptionally strong customer-first mindset and is next door to many of SyBridge's top customers," He further added, "The Action acquisition is core to our strategy of supporting customers with dedicated service centers within close proximity.

"With the creation of the SyBridge Tech & Services Business Unit last year, we not only continued adding service centers, but also expanded our business scope to fixtures, gauges, end-of-arm tooling, prototyping, additive manufacturing, and IoT services. The acquisition of Lakeshore supports our strategic goal of becoming a leading industrial technology solutions provider."

-Tony Nardone, CEO of SyBridge

The past decade has seen a significant shift in the nature of the products being manufactured and sold by the innovative biopharmaceutical (biopharma) industry. The global biopharmaceutical portfolio of today reflects increased therapeutic competition, a greater prevalence of large molecule drugs, expansion in the number of personalized or targeted products, and a rise of treatments for many orphan diseases. These trends have given rise to biopharmaceutical products with extremely limited production runs, highly specific manufacturing requirements, and genotype-specific products. This fundamental shift in the overall product mix and a focus on continuing to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of production is spurring an evolution in the technologies and processes needed to support advanced biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
